Schlosshotel Wilhelmsthal in Calden

The location of the castle is nice, the rest is dirt. In the truest sense of the word: the ambience is getting on in years, our waiter was friendly but extremely neglected. Sweaty, dirty shirt and nipple alarm. The food was underground. We had ribbon noodles with chanterelles. They weren't washed enough and you could feel the dirt between your teeth. The ribbon noodles were overcooked and therefore inedible. We had a disabled person with us in a wheelchair, which took a lot of strength and time to get inside. If we had known beforehand, we would have turned back in time and we would have drawn. The location definitely has potential, but unfortunately it has not been exhausted at all. In this sense: life is too short to eat badly.

Practically only a café, you can order from a few cakes and 4 different types of ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, stracciatelle).

I stayed at this hotel on business I went to my room at night after work, but my room wasn't even occupied and I had to sleep without a blanket or pillow. Something like that doesn't work. I definitely cannot recommend this hotel

The Schlosshotel Wilhelmsthal as it is called, Should be best closed. The food is bad and the woman from the waitress is snotty, I will advise everyone against entering this shop. Never again .

Good German cuisine.

We were disappointed. Tagliatelle with chanterelles, we were really looking forward to it. Noodles were cooked very soft, chanterelles in a strong dark sauce which the chanterelles totally covered and so could not be tasted. The salad served must have been standing for almost 1 hour. Too bad, the service and the atmosphere was ok.

Cheap accommodation, nice location. Inside something dusty and noisy, but clean and tidy. Service o.k. Bathroom and showers new and good.

We were eating Schlosshotel, did not stay there. In this respect, I only rate the restaurant. It was relatively empty (visit during the week). The service was very friendly, the food from me and also from my wife tasted great, praise to the chef! Unfortunately, I feel the equipment as very old. The furniture has some signs of wear and tear, it is not really nice anymore. There is great potential here! We will definitely be back, delicious!

Room in rustic oak look. A renovation of the rooms is urgently needed. Bathroom as new and in order.

Only on arrival we were informed that our booked rooms were not available, since they were "used" (quote) for other guests. The Dependance where we were accommodated at the same price, was indisputable (smelly sheets, broken sheets, dirty curtains, smelly wet rooms). A free breakfast was offered to us, but we thankfully rejected because of the not very inviting service.

A very nice and calm place to walk, relax and re-energize.Meuseum was closed when we visited but seems like interesting information about its history inside the meuseum.

Staff Friendy and helpfull. Food is okay to the price. All the rest is old and need to be updated.

Reception almost never occupied. The hotel itself has its best days behind. Rooms were ok. If you are looking for something for a night and have no claims can quietly stop here. All others I can only recommend to look in the vicinity there is better.

Good hotel, with a simple standard. Room absolutely fine. We could also before 12 o'clock in the room, which is less and less possible. Directly at the castle park. Parking in front of the hotel. Total peace. Nevertheless proximity to Kassel.

We were satisfied with the food, enjoyed everything and was hot. The sauce to Schmandschnitzel was extra served, which I liked. Our greeting from the kitchen was delicious and the consistency of the dips just right. The service was really nice and friendly and fast. After a tour of the castle park we have drunk coffee. Very delicious, homemade cake and a hot espresso (which is not always self-evident) Unfortunately we also had crockery, which is not great.

Very friendly staff, good location free WiFi. Rooms clean and large. But expensive without breakfast.
